The Australian Prawn Farmers Association and the Australian Barramundi
Farmers Association Joint Annual Conference is scheduled for 19-20 July at
the prestigious Start City Casino in Sydney. 

400 delegates are expected to attend from around Australia and overseas.
The Conference will include 30 Trade Exhibitors.
 

The Associations invite related companies and research agencies to submit a brief abstract (no more than 100 words) for consideration by the Conference Committee,  to info@apfa.com.au no later than Friday 30 March 2002.

Star City Casino on Sydney's Darling Harbour will host the Australian Prawn Farmers Associations 10th Annual Conference. This year for the first time it will be held in conjunction with the Australian Barramundi Farmers Association.

The prawn farming industry is this year set to produce more than 3700 tonnes of prawns worth more than AUD$70 million. The industry currently employs more than 1000 people in regional coastal Australia.

The conference will include a major trade exhibition with over 30 trade booths. There will be international and national speakers on topical issues including environmental sustainability, production techniques, health and quarantine, new technologies, food safety, investment and R&D.

The conference will be of interest to investors, bankers, allied industry sectors, existing farmers, food industry professionals, researchers and government agencies.
