Australia's largest Atlantic salmon producer Tassal
Ltd could be bought by an overseas player with some 80
buyers showing interest in the group.
The Tasmanian-based fish farming group said interest
had been shown from many countries around the world,
including Canada, Scotland, Norway, Holland and Chile
and locally in Australia.
Tassal Ltd said 45 local and international buyers had
signed confidentiality deeds to receive further
information on the sale with a further 35 having
expressed interest.
'The amount of interest that has been shown from
overseas has been staggering - out of the 80
interested parties, at least half of those have been
international players,' said Tassal receiver and
manager Mark Ryan, of accounting and insolvency group
KordaMentha. |
