Monash University – Gippsland
are providing assistance to small businesses in
Gippsland, including aquaculture businesses, to
gain maximum benefits from the use of technology. The
program, The Technology Diffusion Gateway, will see
the resources and expertise and specialist knowledge
embedded in the Monash Regional Centre for Information
& Communication Technologies applied to assist
Gippsland businesses to come to terms with the best
technology to use to grow and prosper local
businesses.
The program seeks to deliver
greater efficiencies to local small businesses by
increasing their competitive advantage and
productivity. The Gateway will help local people
identify, plan and implement practical solutions to
improve business operations through maximising
benefits from existing technology already in use,
identifying what technology should be in use or
developing new technologies.
As a part of the planning process
The Gateway will work out how much it will cost to
implement the recommended outcomes, and what it will
actually save the business so informed decisions can
be made on possible investments. Assistance will also
be provided to help businesses access funding from a
range of available programs that can contribute to the
cost. Where new technology is required the University
can acquire research funds.
The program service is at no cost
to the small businesses involved and further
information can be accessed through the Monash
Regional Centre for Information & Communication
Technologies on (03) 5122 6508 or email
admin@mrcict.monash.edu.au. A Technology
Diffusion Registration form is available on
www.mrcict.monash.edu.au
The number of businesses to be
included in the program is limited and Gippsland
aquaculture businesses have been encouraged by GAIN to
act promptly so the industry can maximise the benefits
of this excellent program. |
