Applications are sought from suitably qualified persons to provide
strategic stewardship to the
Fisheries Research and
Development Corporation (FRDC).
The FRDC is a rural research and development corporation that is jointly
funded by the Commonwealth Government and the
Australian fishing industry. It operates within the
portfolio of the Commonwealth Minister for
Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
FRDC is responsible to its stakeholders to:

plan, invest in and manage
fisheries R&D throughout
Australia: and
-
fascilitate the dissemination,
adoption and commercialisation of R&D results.
The FRDC has become widely recognised as the leading agency in this role
and manages more than $50 million of fisheries R&D
projects.
Applicants must have high-level knowledge and experience in one or more
of the following fields:

Conservation and management of
natural resources
-
Fisheries and aquaculture
technology and production
-
Seafood processing and
marketing
-
Natural resources science
-
Economics
-
Sociology
-
Technology transfer and
commercialisation
The selection committee will ensure that the Directors of the
Corporation, collectively, possess an appropriate
balance of expertise, including knowledge and
experience in R&D administration, and business and
financial management.
