|
|
Q |
Why
are fish so expensive to buy? |
|
A |
Because they are in
short supply. About 80% of all fish consumed in
Victoria come from interstate and overseas. In
addition, the supply from our oceans is in decline
and only aquaculture can make up the shortfall and
possibly bring the prices down. Without a strong
aquaculture industry in Victoria prices can only go
higher. |
|
|
Q |
What
is so special about farmed fish? |
|
A |
They are of consistent
size and quality, and available all year round.
Prices do not fluctuate wildly due to seasonal
factors. |
