Aquafarm Equipment For Sale
Long time GAIN member, Sandalwood Australia Pty Ltd, has been commissioned to seek Offers for a quantity of freshwater recirculation aquafarm equipment on behalf of a client who is intending to build a major production facility.
The equipment comprises the entire inventory of a small scale farm, currently producing five tonnes of Murray cod per annum, operating stably in a small industrial shed, 15m x 20m.
The equipment is available on a whole working system basis or will be sold piece by piece, dependent upon buyer interest.
The aquafarm was constructed 5 years ago to determine operational optimums and to show potential investors a working model of a small scale unit. The original capacity of the farm was designed for 1 tonne production per year, but with improvements to both system and management, production has increased and operating costs reduced.
The original operator achieved a cost of production of $3.76 per kilo (considering costs from power, gas, water, food, fingerlings and insurance throughout 1 year - excluding labour, which equated to an average of 2 hrs/day).
Qualified interested parties are welcome to visit the facility for a close-up look at how fish are grown.
The system will suit start up operators seeking to operate a small scale production facility or to learn their craft before venturing into major investments.
Photographs of the equipment are available to interested persons.
The principals would like to sell the equipment on a system basis but are prepared to break up the equipment where there is sufficient interest in various items.
Enquiries and inspection requests should addressed in the first instance to Tony McLennan Telephone: 0408 513 500 Fax: 03 5174 4911 Email: mclennan@netspace.net.au
